Compliance & Business Law

Compliance & Business Law

What could derail the business you’ve worked so hard to build?

An unclear agreement. A missed obligation. Uncertainty about who owns your original work.

Today’s Built to Charge lesson is Compliance & Business Law.

I think of compliance as a protectorant for your business: the agreements, ownership records and regular reviews that help protect what you’re creating.

In this video, I share four questions every business owner should ask:

• Do your agreements clearly define the work, payment and responsibilities?
• Who owns your original work, and what do you have permission to use?
• Which obligations apply to your business, who handles them and when are they due?
• Who can access customer information, and how is it protected?

Your challenge: Choose ONE document or deadline. Write down one unanswered question and set a date to review it with the right adviser.

You don’t have to become a legal expert. You do need to know where your business needs attention.
